An Autonomic Service Oriented Architecture in Computational Engineering Framework

Authors: not saved
Abstract:

Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) technology enables composition of large and complex computational units out of the available atomic services. Implementation of SOA brings about challenges which include service discovery, service interaction, service composition, robustness, quality of service, security, etc. These challenges are mainly due to the dynamic nature of SOA. SOAmay often need to dynamically organizing (and re-organizing) its topologies of interactions between the services due to unpredictable events, such as crashes or network problems, which will cause service unavailability. The complexity and dynamism of the current global network system require architecture that capable of autonomously changing its structure and functionality to meet dynamic changes in the requirements and environment with little human intervention. In this paper, we elaborate the idea of adapting the autonomic computing paradigm into SOA in order to meet those challenges, and we present a case study of the idea in computational engineering framework.

Providing an Enterprise Architecture Framework Model for Laboratory Information Management Systems by Service Oriented Approach

Background and Aim: Laboratories are one of the most important scientific and research centers. Laboratory information management systems provide a platform for recording the information and collaborating between researchers. The main purpose of this study was suggesting an organizational architecture model of laboratory information management systems.  Materials and Methods: This study was a ...

Reconfigurable Service-Oriented Architecture for Autonomic Computing

Almost a decade has passed since the objectives and benefits of autonomic computing were stated, yet even the latest system designs and deployments exhibit only limited and isolated elements of autonomic functionality. In previous work, we identified several of the key challenges behind this delay in the adoption of autonomic solutions, and proposed a generic framework for the development of au...

Towards an Autonomic Service Architecture

Traditional telecommunications service providers are undergoing a transition to a shared infrastructure in which multiple services will be offered to customers. These services will be introduced, modified, and retired at a pace that tracks changing requirements and demands. In order to be cost-effective, these services will need to be delivered over a shared infrastructure that is managed to su...

A Service-Oriented Architecture for Computational Creativity

Creativity is a long cherished and widely studied aspect of human behavior that allows us to re-invent the familiar, and to imagine the new. Computational creativity (CC) is a newly burgeoning area of creativity research that brings together academics and practitioners from diverse disciplines, genres and modalities, to explore the potential of computers to be autonomously creative, or to colla...
